ஆசிய யானை
அபுல்-அபாஸ் (Abul-Abbas) (770கள் அல்லது 780கள்-810) என்பது ஆசிய யானையாகும். அப்பாசியக் கலீபகத்தின் தலைவர் ஆருன் அல்-ரசீதிடமிருந்து கரோலிங்கியப் பேரரசர் சார்லமேனிடம் அவரது தூதர் ஐசக் யூதரால் மீண்டும் கொண்டு வரப்பட்டது. யானையின் பெயரும் மற்றும் அதன் வாழ்க்கையின் சில நிகழ்வுகளும் கரோலிங்கிய அரச பரம்பரைப் பற்றிய நூலில் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளன.[1][2][b] அதில் இந்த யானை வீட்டா கரோலி மேக்னி குறிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.[3][c] எனினும், அப்பாசியப் பதிவுகளில் பரிசு பற்றிய குறிப்புகள் அல்லது சார்லமேனுடனான தொடர்புகள் எதுவும் காணப்படவில்லை.
